Collets
Precision collets feature a single angle design O.D. with a ground and lapped I.D. manufactured to within 0.0001-inch of the required tool shank diameter. A single split through the collet allows tool clamping without losing accuracy, unlike other collets with multiple splits which lose accuracy while allowing wider tool shank ranges. Six individual collet sizes are available to accommodate tools ranging from 0.060-inch to 1.375-inches in diameter.
These collets can be used in conjunction with tapered and staight shank tool holders or with other tool holder designs where clamping accuracy is essential. |

Gun Drill/Reamer Tool Holders
Gun drill/reamer holders provide a guaranteed accuracy of 0.0001 T.I.R., two inches from the front face of the collet. This tool holder is available in four separate sizes to accommodate tool shank sizes of 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16 and 3/4-inches.
The basic construction of the holder assembly includes a Jacobs type beveled tooth nosepiece, a precision tapered collet and nut assembly that securely clamps and unclamps the tool from the holder and an internal flat that provides positive drive for the tool. Each tool holder also features thru-coolant capability and radial positioning for diamond tipped tools. |

Hydraulic Chucks
Hydraulic expansion chucks guarantee a maximum runout of 0.00015-inches at two times the tool shank diameter. This provides a balanced chip load and increased part quality. Reduced wear prolongs tool life.
Hydraulic expansion chucks can be operated at very high speeds. Additional balancing is recommended for speeds above 15,000 RPM. The tool size range is 0.250-inch to 2.000-inch diameter depending upon design.
The complete line of hydraulic chucks includes CAT, BT, HSK and flange-mounted models. Each chuck style is available with thru-coolant capability. |

Precision Spindles
In addition to quick-change tool holders and accessories, FL-Tool Holders has years of experience with the very close tolerance work required for spindle manufacturing.
F L Tool Holders precisely manufactures the following spindle types: FL-Style, All HSK Types, ABS, Straight Bores, Morris GHD and Tap Spindles.
When existing spindle designs are available, FL-Tool Holders can assist clients in determining the operations needed to complete the spindle and to manufacture complete spindles to meet specific customer requirements.
Our spindles and tool holders are used in many manufacturing plants throughout North America, Central America and Europe. |
 |
Quick-Change Straight Shank Tool Holders
Straight shank tool holders and automotive collet-type holders can be used in existing automotive spindles with over-the-spindle adapters to transform any spindle, regardless of original manufacturer, into a quick-change design. Benefits of the system include increased machining efficiency, high accuracy repeatability and quick-change ability.
Three different shank sizes are available in each model (3/4", 1-1/16", 1-3/8") to accommodate tools ranging from 0.10-inch to 0.750-inch in diameter. |

Quick Change Tapered Tool Holders
Quick-change tapered tool holders are designed and built to increase product quality by accurately positioning cutting tools on production and non-production machines. They feature improved cutting tool centerline accuracy, positive drive of the cutting tool and thru-coolant capability.
Each patented tapered tool holder also features a compact design which minimizes spindle to spindle center distance as well as overhang from the bearing diameters to the spindle end. The system is ideal for single or multiple spindle stub drilling applications without the use of bushing plates.
Our spindle retention mechanism includes a fully mechanical thread design which locks the tool holder into the spindle. This design does not include springs, balls or other moving components which become inoperable due to contamination from common machining environments.
Our full length taper design offers a very solid spindle to tool holder connection which helps maintain accuracy and rigidity throughout the system.
Six tool holder sizes are available to accomodate a wide variety of tool shank diameters ranging from .060-inch diameter to 1.375-inch diameter. Each tapered tool holder assembly features a guaranteed accuracy of 0.0005 T.I.R. runout 2-inches from the collet face measured with a zero spindle and class XX gage pin.
Special holders, such as extended lengths and solid soft blank nosepieces for cutter inserts, can also be designed and manufactured to customer specifications. |

Floating Tap/Reamer Holders
FL floating tool holders are designed and built to compensate for misalignment between the spindle and work piece on previous drilled holes.
Our standard holders feature various styles of shanks including acme threaded, straight, Morse taper and CAT v-flange. Special designs can also be manufactured to satisfy your spindle requirements.
Our standard line of tap and reamer holding components include tap adapters, SA collets, tap collets, reamer collets, Morse taper and dedicated size. Each component within the tool holder is engineered and manufactured to ensure maximum wear and durability.
FL Floating Tool Holders feature:
- Automatically compensates for misalignment
- Dy-Clad coating for corrosion resistance
- Coolant thru available
- Close center distance
- Adjustable tension and self centering
- Collet system and quick change
- Specials and custom design available
- Repair facility on premises

Over-The-Spindle Adapter Aseemblies
Over-the-spindle adapters tranformstandard high production machine spindles into quick-change adjustable tool adapters. They can be used with straight shank holders, automotive collet type holders or existing automotive shank tool holders by using a standard spindle collar and adapter nut assembly.
Located directly onto the spindle outside diameter and securely fastened by a locking set screw, the over-the-spindle adapter assembly features a left hand threaded collar that forces an ACME left hand threaded adapter nut to seat directly against the spindle face. This enables the spindle to take the thrust generated by the tool, eliminating any thrust being directed to the set screw.
When loosened, the mechanically activated over-the-spindle adapter (standard or stub model) forces chips away from the spindle face. Details are hardened and ground for consistent accuracy and are available to fit every machine builder's standard spindles. |
